§ 18-52. Vesting at age fifty, with twenty-five years creditable service.

  • Effective on the 17th day of July, 1980, any employee of the City of Grapevine who has attained the age of 50 years and who, as an employee of this city, has completed 25 or more years of creditable service for which he is entitled to credit in the Texas Municipal Retirement System, and who has been a member of the system for one year or more, shall be eligible for service retirement as provided in V.T.C.A., Government Code § 854.101 et seq., as amended. Any such employee who shall have completed 20 years or more of creditable service as an employee of said city shall continue as a member of the Texas Municipal Retirement System despite subsequent absence from service for a period in excess of 60 months, provided he does not withdraw his deposits during such absence, and shall be eligible to retirement upon and after attainment of the minimum age prescribed by the act above mentioned.
